I guess many have mentioned this before.
Diversity should not be based on "country" as well. For example I can easily say that "India" has to be considered as "20 different countries", if it divided based on diversity. And probably many of the europian countries combined should be "1 country".
Means if the diversity quota is 100 per year, to call for proper diversity.....

Relax and send all the documents requested by the USCIS. They might ask you for additional documents later based on what they receive from you or may approve your case.

Do I qualify for EB2 category?
I already filled I-140 in March 2008 under EB2.

I was among the very first to predict forward movement of EB2 (8 months back when most of the information available suggested no movement). Looking at September approvals i will see there will be very few cases pending from 2002-2004 for EB2 (those pending will be cleared in next few months since PD will stay current).
My estimate is that
EB2-India pending applications with PD older than Dec-2004 no more than 2000.
EB2 India had used 8000-10000 visa in 2009 (5000-7000 in Sept 2009 alone)
Holding following assumptions we will see more forward movement in coming months and whole of 2010 fiscal year.
Slow improvement in economy (fewer new applications from EB2-ROW and EB1)
PERM applications stay stuck (as they are very few approvals in last 12 months)
CIS is force to allocate visa every quarter (leading to large spill-over)
Fewer EB3 to EB2 porting
CIS has prudently processed most old cases (pending for name-checks) and also pre-adjucated most cases filled in 2007-2008. So if they have visa numbers pending we should see big movment in Dec 2009 Visa Bulletin. This movement could cover all EB2-I 2005 cases in next two quarters (by March 2010). How explained below

Wonder how much money he might have made with working top bookies ? He/Sanjay Dutt and other like them know that it might come back anytime so they are getting prepared politically.

So no wander if they sell this commodity. So for the voters we should put the qualifications like paying the taxes are having something like 10 acre of Land or certain education requirement. So that Politicians cannot bribe the voters easily. Also that would stop the announcement like free TV free Laptop. Like US during freedom war no representation no tax. In India it should be no tax no vote. That way we can curb pompous politicians.

ANd I failed miserably. My models didn't make much sense. So I quit trying to come up with a reasonable, mathematical, estimate on the wait times.
The reason I was trying to determine wait times, was so that I could then convince people to join and contribute for IV. Basically, a media campaign, geared towards our base.
Anyway, the point of this post is this. I don't need reasonable, mathematical estimates. Maybe, all I need is a quote. A quote from someone knowledgeable, like Aman. Or some lawyers association. IMO, both arguments and are valid as far as speculations are concerned. It all depends on perspective. In this thread, we are focusing on statistics and calculations. I my self did lot of calculations. However, objectively looking at Ron's comments, it appears like his concern and underlying message is what if USCIS won't adjudicate enough numbers and wastes visa numbers as it did lot of times. He is basing his prediction on years of experience. With recent pressure on DOS/USCIS to use visa number, I think, they are making an attempt to use up all numbers and that will definitely bring life to our calculations. But what If they do not do that.....and their 'target' is a low number.
What you say can certainly happen, but I beleive that the pressure on USCIS is exponentially greater after last summer. People are watching their every step very closely. They got away with their inefficiency in prior years because the bottleneck was not USCIS - it was DOL that took a zillion years to clear labor petitions. Additionally the visa recapture of 2000 ensured no retrogression until 2005. What you say can certainly happen, but I beleive that the pressure on USCIS is exponentially greater after last summer. People are watching their every step very closely. They got away with their inefficiency in prior years because the bottleneck was not USCIS - it was DOL that took a zillion years to clear labor petitions. Additionally the visa recapture of 2000 ensured no retrogression until 2005. For the most part I think you're right. When I did my master's we were less than 10 white people in 200 in that major. Most of the indian people in there (about half of the 190) were H4s studying while the spouse came on H1 directly from India. And while I had to pay international tuition they got the in state resident tuition.
When I finished my degree might I add in the top 5 of those 200 I had a hard time finding a job while my colleagues each knew someone who helped them land a job a lot easier. I did ok for myself in the end and I have many Indian friends so don't take this as an anti-indian post. But there are definitely advantages to be part of a big group that is concentrated in an industry.
That being said, I don't think that we would be having this discussion in a normal world in which the GC numbers are enough. So stop the bickering and work towards increasing those numbers. That will make life easier for everybody.

I wish your hopes comes true. However, one thing you should remember. There are many guys with PD before 2005 got stuck due to name check, particularly in ROW catagory. This big jump in PD for ROW and new name check clearance rule, will makes tons of 485s become eligible for approval in March.
As they mentioned in their comment, they may freeze the PD for ROW in APril or move back to 2004, depending on how many EB3-ROW gets GC in March.

Home appreciation in Canada is strong and sustainable. The recent anomoly of soaring prices in the US, all experts agree, was driven by loose lending policies, and the sorts of bad loans that are simply not permitted in Canada. As a result, they are now not experiencing the same depreciation that is being felt in many US cities.
Housing prices in Canada do of course vary tremendously. And go through cycles. Vancouver is very expensive. Toronto is close on its heels. But to suggest homes don't increase value in Canada is perhaps the dumbest of the many dumb things you've said here.
I mean here we are in the middle of what all economists argue is a gloomy US housing market and you try and come up with nonsensical criticisms of the Canadian housing market.
Where do you get these utterly baseless comments? Use facts when you make an argument. They are more helpful to readers than rants without substance.

Here in capitalist market housing is never been a housing alone , prime motto to have housing is investment.
