So once this bill passes, we can just forget about legal immigration applications for 2 ~3 years, until all illeagul and UNDOCUMENTED applications are processed.

While it is true that EB 3 india will take "forever" for those with priority date after 2005, USCIS has been coming down heavily on recent spate of EB3 to EB2 filings. One thing to ask an employer who claims to file EB2 on your behalf is whether they have applied similar EB2s successfully for candidates at similar position that they are offering you. If they fail to provide a satisfactory answer, they are more than likely luring you with a false promise.

I have been resisting reading this thread until now. Had a gut feeling that something with such an idiotic title cannot have anything meaningful. Anyway, just read this and couldn't help rolling on the floor!
So basically this crackpot "rajakannan" files in June and tries to con everyone into applying on July 31st, thus ensuring two things (IMHO):
1. USCIS won't delay sending his EAD and AP due to deluge of I-485 applications.
2. In case the dates retrogress middle of the month (mid-July) due to large volumes of I-485s from people (from other countries or those who don't visit here), then that reduces additional backlog for his case.
Good job, "rajakannan", you have only managed to insult your intelligence by starting this thread. Members/Visitors here have noble intentions and hearts of gold not to wish bad things for your I-485.
Crawl back under your mushroom and don't ever come here again.

The kids from the second marriage can definitely come. He can call the first wife get her the green card, then divorce her and go and marry the second wife and bring her here.
once he gets his GC (until he becomes a citizen) getting the 2nd wife over iis going to take too long, as its in FB quota, not EB. Thats one reason why many unmarried folks did not file their I-485 in July/August. If their 485 is approved before their marriage, then bringing the spouse over is real tough.

The fact is republicans don’t like non whites to immigrate to US and the democrats are color blind to most extent but they are class conscious, they like illegals and poor people to immigrate to US because they can control them whereas they cannot control and herd the EB immigrants.
"reforming" the US immigration system by introducing a points based system where even existing applicants like the EB folks who have been in US for the last 10+ years have to re apply in points based nonsense system.
We will all have to fight for our cause but don’t have unrealistic expectations from CIR. Our best bet is a non cir piece meal bill visa recapture bill that addresses EB issues seperate from CIR, it is difficult to get such a bill passed but the chances for such a bill are better then Obama-durbin cir

And I do not want to start GC process from "scratch" in point bases system when I have spent so much time, money and energy in the current process...

My case was transferred from NSC to CSC, and then to TSC. I guess its because my I-140 was approved by TSC. I got my FP notices from TSC.
Could you tell us when was your case transferred to TSC and when did you recieve the FP notice.

There are ppl who moved 2 or 3 months after getting GC and have got their USC

I went through the entire thread, i did not find any cases of people who had never used AC 21 and who left their employers right after 485 approval.
To be very specific, we need clarification on what the consequences are of leaving the sponsoring employer right after getting the GC esp people who never used AC21 and have been with the sponsoring company for several years before getting the GC.

Can you please let me know if you applied for AP online and what supporting documents you had mailed.
Applied for EAD on Aug 30th, Receipt notice was on Sep 3rd and Got email yesterday saying card production ordered. Nebraska Service center.
Now waiting for AP to be approved. Applied on Aug 30th. Receipt notice on 3rd Sep, LUD on 10th Sep.. Texas service center. Thinking it should not be long.

First of all congratulations on arriving at a mile stone. But obviously it is not end of the journey.
It is also not a time to say "thanks and good bye" to IV. Consider the fact that IV has done a lot for us, at least by making Congress aware of our plight and giving the anti immigrationist some run for their money and at times making their heartbit to skip. It is a different matter whether we got the law passed to address our problem, we may not have that much power; a simple fact is that we do not have voting power and Indian-American or Chinese-American community is not 100% behind us.
But in times like this at least members like you should not leave IV. Then those who have made the dates temporarily current to divide us have just achieved their goals. Anti immigrationist and the writers of the senate amnesty for illegal aliens bill would smile after reading your post. In fact you should announce a one time donation to IV to celebrate your milestone and pledge your continuing support to IV.

I am not saying Thanks and Good bye, As you see even after my GC I am still responding to your message. I am fully supporting the VI initiative. but the problem is that USCIS will do only what they think it is right and not what is really right. Me being in the Q for so long , I will never forget the Horrors of waiting for GC, even after getting the GC.
We as indians are divided lots in every area, we are like CRABS. certainly I am not one of those CRABS, My friends will give a ample proof about that.
In matter of fact, As a community, we are not PROUD about OURSELVES and our HINDU CULTURE, we cannot make any DHARMIC efforts to come under ONE UMBRELLA and fight for our cause. IV is one initiative, which is good but not enough, because do we get any help from our Indian Embassy or any Indian Organisation in America to support us, NEVER. this is because we DONOT LOOK UPTO OUR INNER VOICE AS HINDUS. I am not saying this to you in particular, I am referencing this as an INDIAN COMMUNITY. SO PLEASE NOTHING PERSONAL.
every one of us is a GOOD PRACTISING HINDU BECAUSE WE LIVE LIFE WITH OUR DHARMIC VALUES AND PRINCIPLES. IT IS TIME TO COME TOGATHER AND IMPLEMENT THOSE VALUES AS A HINDU SOCIETY.
